Domestic violence charges dropped against Reuben Foster

- TMZ is reporting that the domestic violence charge against National Football League linebacker Reuben Foster has been dropped.

Foster's attorney, Eddie Suarez, told that he believes the charge against Foster was dropped because of issues with witness credibility. The league continues to investigate this incident and may levy more discipline against Foster.

Foster was arrested on November 24 at the 49ers team hotel in Tampa, Florida, after his ex-girlfriend accused him of swatting a phone out of her hand, pushing her in the chest and slapping her on the left side of her face with an open hand. Foster was arrested after the incident.

A misdemeanor domestic violence charge against Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster has been dismissed. So, that is something to keep an eye on as Foster remains on the Commissioner's Exempt list.

"Because I loved him, and love will have you doin' things that's not in your best interests", Ennis said when asked why she recanted.

The Santa Clara district attorney, though, believed that Ennis was lying in her recant, and absolutely believed that Foster beat her up. The Hillsborough County Criminal Division announced the decision on Thursday. He would ultimately see those charges dropped.

Foster has two years remaining on his rookie contract after San Francisco selected him in the first round of the 2017 draft. He was charged in January in Alabama with second-degree marijuana possession. It's unclear why the charge was dropped. The woman later recanted the earlier allegations.

Reuben Foster was suspended the first two games of this season for violating the NFL's conduct and substance-abuse policies.

Elissa Ennis, 28, who accused Foster of domestic violence, told ABC's "Good Morning America" last month that a confrontation between them turned physical when she threatened to tell Foster's new girlfriend that he paid for her flight to Florida. Foster was accused of slapping a phone from her hand, pushing her in the chest and slapping her with an open hand on the left side of her face.

"He called me out there to work on our relationship", Ennis said of the incident in Tampa.
