Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury

The knockdown in the 12th would have turned 99% of the world heavyweights' lights out and Wilder looked totally stunned to see his rival come back for more after crashing to the canvas and the final bell brought roars of appreciation from the satisfied crowd.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will probably meet in a rematch before either of them faces Anthony Joshua in a ring.

Wilder had Fury on the canvas twice, including a spectacular final round knockdown, but was unable to get the knockout victory he had promised to deliver at the Staples Center. Alejandro Rochin of Mexico had it 115-111 for Wilder, while Robert Tapper of Canada saw it 114-110 for Fury.

It figured to be a match-up of Wilder's power versus Fury's ability to use his foot movement to avoid and frustrate Wilder. I went to Germany to fight [Wladimir] Klitschko, and I went to America to fight Deontay Wilder.

Wilder finally found a home for the right hand in the ninth round. From our side we want that undisputed fight ASAP and that's Deontay Wilder in April 13 at Wembley. It looked like the fight was over Fury barely beat referee Jack Reiss' count and even when Wilder rocked him in a follow-up attack Fury was still together enough to hold on.

Fury by contrast cleverly picked his moments, finding Wilder with greater accuracy and causing a nasty swelling over the American's left eye. He came close, dropping Fury in the ninth round and again in the final round, but Fury showed the same kind of heart and will that helped him overcome the nightmare of the past three years since he won three major titles and the lineal championship three years ago this week in a monumental upset of Klitschko, the longtime champion. I'm a professional athlete who loves to fight. "The respect was mutual".

"I would love for it to be my next fight", Wilder said.

"As long as I'm focused for the full duration of the fight, I don't see him landing any punches at all", Fury said.

Saturday night in Los Angeles, one of the biggest heavyweight showdowns in recent memory will take place.

"Tyson will fight in the United Kingdom again".

Classy combinations drew cheers from his supporters as Wilder failed to rise to the occasion, often missing the target horribly as he tried to land a big punch. It doesn't matter to me where we do it. I just showed the world tonight, everyone suffering with mental health, that you can come back and it can be done.
