Sarri: Drinkwater and Moses do not fit Chelsea system

Moses is more suited to play at wing-back rather than as a winger or a full-back, I think.

"The situation is that Drinkwater for me is not suitable for a midfield with two midfielders".

"I think we have the same problems [I had early on in Italy] but the quality of the players is very high so they are able to win matches [without a] good defensive phase".

Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri insists he has to speak to Eden Hazard regarding his fitness before picking him in the club's match day squad against Crystal Palace.

The Chelsea manager also said he wants his captain Gary Cahill to remain at the club for his off-field presence but admitted the player could yet push for a January move as he has fallen behind Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz in Sarri's plans. "I'll be surprised if you come back here, but you know you're always welcome".

"They have to improve, but the characteristics are a little bit different", he told reporters.

Former finance expert Sarri has guided Chelsea to third in the Premier League table, with seven wins and three draws from 10 matches, leaving the Blues trailing Liverpool and Manchester City by just two points.

"If you look at December and January, you need to change also in the Premier League because we will play every three days in the Premier League, so we also need to change in this".

'I didn't ask anything about it to my club because we can stay with these players and be competitive.

"I have to look at all competitions - 90 minutes is 90 minutes".

The Blues warmed up for the game with a 3-2 victory over Frank Lampard's Derby County in midweek to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup but it's league matters that are the focus tomorrow.

"That's how we left it, and I think that's what he hoped to hear from me, and expected. So we need to change in the Premier League".
