As per the changelog, the new update brings several new features and improvements to the phones.

On Friday, OnePlus fans created history by unboxing 559 OnePlus 6T devices at the same time, at the same location.

In addition, the locked T-Mobile variant of the 6T comes with just a single SIM slot and not dual slots like on the unlocked model.

T-Mobile is the first American partner of OnePlus, therefore you can get their devices straight from the physical shop of this mobile company. Out-of-the-box it runs the latest OxygenOS based on Android Pie. OnePlus 6T has a bigger 3,700mAh battery, compared to 3,300mAh battery on OnePlus 6.

The new OnePlus 6T is here and it's already more affordable than the flagship smartphones that it's competing with, such as the Galaxy S9. Finally, OnePlus did ditch the headphone jack in the 6T here. It starts at $549 for versions with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, but there are versions with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for just $629 as well. Bumping things up to 8GB will cost $579. It comes with storage options for 128GB and 256GB.

The unlocked phone is only available from OnePlus' website, but this is clearly the "better" version of the phone. The bootloader will be unlockable, but only after the device has been paid off and has spent 40 days on the T-Mobile network. The company is also claiming that Screen Unlock will learn to recognise the user's fingerprint with higher accuracy with extended use overtime. Although, Verizon won't sell it in its stores. And T-Mobile customers can save up to 50 percent if they trade-in a qualifying device. For tinkerers, the T-Mobile variant is even less desirable. Else you can check for the update by heading to Settings About Phone System update to check update manually. Still, OnePlus 6T is good value for money, especially if you buy it through T-Mobile. Even though the listing was quickly taken down, it did not escape the vigilant tipsters.

That said, while using the OnePlus 6T, I never missed the sharper displays from $750-plus phones.
