The Patriots had just signed Coleman last week in one of their many recent moves to find more help at wide receiver before deciding to release him for Gordon.

With all of the talent that he has, the Browns have held on to Gordon despite him serving multiple suspensions. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the seventh-round pick is not conditional, contrary to some reports.

Gordon is expected to make his debut for the Patriots on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions.

"This is great. The Pats are a great team but they always get better", she told TMZ Sports.

Gordon joined the Patriots receiving group which includes Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson. If things don't work out with the troubled wide receiver, it will cost them nothing more than a fifth-round pick. He was signed by New England on August 27, 2018, released on September 1, and added to the practice squad on September 12.

"The history of Josh Gordon is beyond riddled with off-field issues, substance abuse, consistently letting the team down that drafted him and continually, time after time showed faith in him and brought him back - I thought it was a bad trade quite honestly", King said. Belichick will hold a press conference on Friday, during which he'll likely field additional questions about Gordon.
