Competition favourites Barcelona have kicked off their Champions League campaign in emphatic style by seeing off PSV 4-0 at Camp Nou, courtesy of a Lionel Messi hat-trick.

"I try to work hard regardless of my position and I work hard on every aspect of my game, I feel more of an attacking midfielder and I am comfortable on the left as this is where I've played the most".

On the Champions League clash he added, "For me, it is very special to be here".

The Mexico global impressed at the World Cup earlier this year, scoring the victor against Germany, which led to speculation that he was being watched by a number of Europe's biggest sides.

'My agents told me that Barca asked about me and it would be a dream to play here in the future, but now the important thing is focusing on PSV and enjoying it as much as possible'.

"It will be a dream come true for me when I grace the pitch at the Camp Nou".

FC Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho has responded to those who have compared him to club legend Andres Iniesta.

PSV are the 30th team Messi has scored against in the Champions League, while he's also managed to find the net past an incredible 179 goalkeepers. He is yet to hit top gear for the season, but will mostly start against Barcelona's Dutch opponents on Tuesday.

'If tomorrow we get a good result I don't care if they fight for Messi's shirt, ' Van Bommel told a news conference.

Lozano has seen his stock skyrocket since his exploits at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he was one of the best young players in action.

"That is part of being a professional, to always be concentrating". As long as we win the game they can do what they want.
