So far we know that Apple will be introducing three new models, dubbed as iPhone XS, iPhone XC, and iPhone XS Max aka iPhone XS Plus. The news of Apple deciding to bundle a 5W adapter with its 2018 iPhones is also disappointing. Xr will most likely come with LCD display as opposed to OLED screen on other two models. The jump up from the 5.5-inch display on the iPhone 8 Plus to a 6.5-inch display is more than enough to justify a new name.
Up until this week, I've had the new 6.1-inch iPhone mentally tagged as the iPhone XE, in reference to iPhone SE, which is the only moderately-priced phone Apple now sells.
Bloomberg reported in February that Apple is considering to offer a dual-SIM model of the 6.5-inch iPhone in some markets. However, we expect the U.S. prices to be at least 20 percent lower.
The name gameLast year Apple kept us guessing till the end on what the 10th-anniversary iPhone would be called. Such a feature is likely to make the iPhone more appealing to consumers in India and China, where people often use two SIM cards.
We might finally get a dual-SIM iPhone this year
There have been reports that Apple's now-mythical AirPower wireless charger that can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods simultaneously will finally be given a release date. The LCD 6.1 inch device is listed as the iPhone XC.
A follow-up 9to5Mac report, however, claimed that instead of going with the "Plus" name for the larger variant of the iPhone X successor, Apple will be calling it the iPhone XS Max. The latest one suggests that the new Apple Watches will be coming with ceramic backs and an electrocardiogram.
"The Apple Watch usually gets an update at this time of the year and media reports have highlighted a larger-sized display on the Apple Watch Series 4, which we believe is reasonable", White wrote in the analyst note. Not only will it be providing a more colorful selection on a "budget" version of a flagship iPhone, it will also be reusing that "c" suffix, which now definitely stands for "color".
But Apple's tablets have struggled to convince buyers to upgrade in significant numbers, leaving the line to plateaux around the 9-13m units shipped a quarter over the last two years, down from the heady highs of 26m in the first quarter of 2014. Past year reports believed that we'll see an iPhone Pro, but these never materialized.More news: US, India sign new deal on military collaboration, sharing intel
