More specifically, Sony has sold 523.3 million PlayStation systems worldwide (and counting), and what better way to celebrate than to try selling even more with a very special limited edition PS4 Pro!

Alongside a transparent vertical stand, the package also includes a PlayStation Camera which doesn't feature a translucent chassis but still draped in similar dark blue colorway.

The first ever 2TB PS4 Pro is a special edition console that will only be released in limited numbers later this month. The system goes on sale on August 24 - keep an eye on the console's official PlayStation.com page for a list of participating retailers.

Furthermore, the PS4 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 controller and headset will be sold separately for Euro 64 (around Rs. 5,000) and Euro 89 (around Rs.7,100).

The house of PlayStation just released a press kit with a metric ton of images that will let you do just that, from every possible angle your mind can think of.

The units will be serialized with a copper plaque on it, though it's hard to think of 50,000 units as a "limited" run. In celebration of this feat, Sony is making a limited edition PS4 Pro system that's blue and translucent and super slick.

For those who don't want to purchase the PS4 Pro, the 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 will also be available for $64.99 United States dollars / $74.99 CAD. Head to the PlayStation European Blog to find out more.

In 1994, the PlayStation made its debut in Japan and, as of today, Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially sold over 500 million PlayStation family systems total.

The limited edition DualShock and Gold Wireless Headset will be available in select quantities at North American retail in September.
