A billion-dollar assembly of stars makes France the favorite for the World Cup final, a scenario that Dejan Lovren is pitching as flawless for Croatia's biggest ever game.

It's the smallest country to reach the World Cup final since Uruguay in 1950, and now, Croatia faces its biggest challenge - will the team finally be able to win the final against France and lift the World Cup trophy for the first time ever?

After a hot start to the match, Croatia conceded against the run of play when Mandzukic got his attempt at a clearing header all wrong. Lovren and star midfielder Luka Modric were refugees as children.

It's a country that breeds toughness in its players. "Croatia, forward!" they said in his video. "It's unbelievable how many talents we have in sports".

Lovren added,"We beat our record from 20 years ago".

This led to a warning from FIFA's disciplinary committee.

After the Spurs game, Lovren said he's received a "disgusting" death threat against his family on social media.

"We can play in different ways, in different styles".

France captain Hugo Lloris, however, insists that France's ability to switch from a more attacking game, like they employed in the 4-3 win over Argentina, to a more counter-attacking style against Belgium is testament to their flexibility.

Before then, in its World Cup debut in 1998, Croatia did reach the semifinals, where it lost to France.

Croatia will go into their very first final against a highly-favoured French side.

Horvath said that the blazers deserved to win in this match. This is why I am proud.

Lovren has certainly been instrumental in Croatia's success to this point. I was only nine. We will never forget this.

This victory over England led Croatia to their first World Cup final and Mario Mandzukic's extra-time victor sealed Croatia's third consecutive win in extra-time or penalties, having beaten Denmark and Russian Federation in penalty shootouts in the previous two rounds.

The Liverpool defender was infuriated before the semi-final match with England, owing to the references made to a match played between Liverpool and Tottenham previous year, where the defender was brought off after 32 minutes.
