Assassin's Creed Odyssey launches October 5; E3 2018 trailer, gameplay walkthrogh

Called Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the game will be the 11th installment of the main series, and the 31st overall in the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey just got some hefty trailer treatment, this time with some of the game's story and a nice long walkthrough of gameplay.

Fight Epic Battles: Show off your extraordinary warrior abilities and shift the tides of battle during one of the deadliest conflicts of the time, the Peloponnesian War.

The game can be played both solo or coop, and will feature a variety of game modes. In a move that's a clear attempt to double down on the RPG elements first introduced to the series in previous outing Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Check back throughout the week for a more E3 2018 coverage. And with a game that is said to emphasize choice, we can see why the option to romance different NPCs was included.

You'll join the adventure as a Spartan, either Alexios or Kassandra.

One of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey pre-order perks is an early release date though it looks like it only comes with the expensive bundles. Because there is no formal police service in Greece, citizens will employ mercenaries to take out people who have wronged them, including you. The $109.99 Gold Steelbook Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has a Steelbook, season pass and Secrets of Greece mission. It's easy to say it looks like an Origins re-skin, but it seems to be shaping up into so much more.

Several details that were revealed to JeuxVideoLive and Kotaku by insider's were confirmed today with Ubisoft's official E3 unveiling of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

While there was an very bad lot of CGI and scripted cinematics on display, Ubisoft struck a fairly decent balance between showcasing actual gameplay as well as glitz. Stay tuned to SegmentNext for coverage on the remainder of it with Sony and Nintendo's shows.
