Killing animals is not by any means part of the curriculum of the agriculture class - but bizarrely enough, a teacher in Florida did exactly that along with some of the students.
An investigation is underway after a teacher at a Florida high school was accused of drowning wild animals in a garbage can while students watched and assisted, CBS Orlando affiliate WKMG reports.
The mother of the student who filmed Brewton's class said her son was in tears when he revealed what had happened to the two raccoons in agriculture class on Monday.
In the interview with the WKMG, the mother said the incident made her "sick to my stomach". "It's awful. It still does make me sick to my stomach", said the mother, who did not want to be identified.

The teacher was reported to have killed the raccoons because they had eaten a chicken that the students had raised. The student told the station a previous class had filled a trashcan with water, and that the students and teacher drowned the trapped raccoons in it.
One parent said her son recorded the video, brought it home, showed it to her and she was "disgusted" by what she saw. "And that's how they killed the second one". "That one probably didn't do anything". A student, who asked to remain anonymous, provided the videos to Channel 9. I think that everyone makes mistakes on a daily basis and he should not be fired because of one mistake out of the 12 Year's he has worked at forest. "When the raccoons tried to come up for air they had metal rods and they held them down with metal rods and when the raccoon would try to pop its head up they held water hoses in its face to drown it". The alleged teacher has been put on paid administrative leaves. "While law enforcement determines whether this teacher's actions were legal or not, his actions before students are entirely unacceptable and cause us great concern". The district says they will not release any other details until the investigation is complete.
Dewie Brewton has been placed on administrative leave from Forest High School in Ocala after a freshman student leaked the shocking footage.
Interestingly, as the Miami Herald noted, alumni members of the Facebook group Forest High School Future Farmers of America (Forest High School FFA Alumni) spoke out in support of Brewton as a dedicated teacher and warned that the media would escalate this story unnecessarily.
"Regardless of the investigative outcomes, Superintendent Dr Heidi Maier is recommending termination", Mr Christian said.
