Mamata wishes Lalu on son's wedding


Mr Prasad's youngest son Tejaswi Yadav, also Leader of Opposition in state Assembly acted like a ideal host spending some moments by sitting with chief minister Mr Kumar in a jovial mood.

Prison authorities in Jharkhand have refuted reports that Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been granted a five-day parole to attend the wedding of his son Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday.

Prasad, 69, who has been convicted in three fodder scam cases by a special CBI court in Ranchi since December past year, is also undergoing treatment at the RIMS hospital in the Jharkhand capital.

While RJD leaders claimed Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi were scheduled to attend, they had not reached the wedding venue till late in the evening.

Almost 30,000 people, many of them RJD supporters who came from across Bihar and Jharkhand, witnessed the wedding rituals and partook of the delicacies at the grand feast, said RJD leaders.

Bihar's popular "litti-chokha", Amritsari kulcha, imarti, gulab jamun, karhai paneer and kulfi besides continental dishes will be served to the guests.

The couple will tie the knot on 12 May at Veterinary College ground in Patna.

He exchanged pleasantries with Prasad and later sat on the dais flanked by the RJD chief and Rabri Devi.

"Laluji is enjoying every moment with his family", an insider said.

Earlier in the day, while the family was busy with last-minute wedding preparations at 10, Circular Road, the official residence of former Bihar chief minister and Prasad's wife Rabri Devi, a supporter erected the billboard outside.

Lalu's counsel had asked for three months provisional bail.

Mr Yadav married Aishwarya Roy, who is the daughter of RJD legislator Chandrika Roy.
