What to expect out of Lonzo Ball's return on Friday

That move leaves Ball returning to a Lakers team that has lost three straight and is playing some of its worst defense of the season, surrendering an average of 129.3 points since the trade.

Ball spoke with the media Friday ahead of his return game against the Mavericks at Staples Center. The rookie point guard has been out since January 13 with a sprained MCL, and a lot has changed since then.

He is one of the young guys along with Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram that the Lakers can really build around. "Hopefully, that makes little things just change".

Ball's pass-first, push-the-pace game should be a boost for the Lakers.

Another Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma gave his take on Twitter earlier this week. Coach Luke Walton agreed college players should be compensated.

How will he use Thomas with Ball back?

Some would say this was Thomas' best game this season. Walton said the rookie will be on limited minutes after the long layoff and he still hasn't decided if Ball will start or come off the bench.

Ball doesn't think so and there are plenty of other athletes who see the flaw in the system, including Kevin Durant who weighed in on if it's even possible to stop players from being paid by agents.

For all Laker fans, we would love for the franchise to get back to a great season, but we are in the rebuilding stage that nearly every pro basketball team goes through before having a championship run season. They play Dallas at home before traveling to Sacramento the next night.
