Die As Boko Haram Bombers Hit Konduga Fish Market


According to him, three suicide bombers, comprising of two females and one male entered Konduga park along the road passing through the town where people do gather to relax and buy things in the night, at times watch videos/films.

A witness, Idrissa Bana, told newsmen that the three suicide bombers simultaneously detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on their bodies in the crowded market.

Chukwu also revealed that 20 persons were injured in the attack.

"There were a lot of people doing last-minute shopping when the suicide bombers hit the market", Bana was quoted by various media outlets as saying.

"We have 19 dead and about 70 others injured".

Boko Haram rebels were the chief suspects in the latest attack.

"The victims included 18 civilians and one soldier".

On the Boko Haram insurgency, the Bureau Chief said he commended the Nigerian Military for holding the territorial integrity of the country, stressing that it's not easy for someone to lay down their life so that the country can be better. "The Tashan Kifi is an informal market which serves as an eatery, market and also hang-out for residents".

The blasts happened shortly after another bomber killed four and injured 44 at a displaced persons' camp in Dalori, 22 kilometres away on the same road to Maiduguri.
