After fans and even Bandai Namco jumped on the idea, Sabat issued a more formal challenge to get the attention of anime streaming site Funimation, which decided to make the "Super Saiyan Showdown" official.

The game was developed by Arc System Works and will be distributed by Bandai Namco. As announced by Bandai Namco the game is ready to be downloaded on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One so that it will be set and ready for tomorrow, when the Open Beta begins. This includes Nappa, Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo, Krillin, and Cell. Unlike past video game adaptations of the anime, FighterZ will give gamers a completely original story, along with an all-new character called Android 21. Unlike the developers' previous titles, Dragon Ball FighterZ will require a little more power, having a minimum requirement of Windows 10 64-bit and 4GB of RAM.

Dragon Ball fans, rejoice! If you don't have the game pre-ordered, you'll be able to jump into the action starting on January 14th (also at midnight). Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 9:30 p.m.

Dragon Ball FighterZ hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC in the west on January 26. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise since he was already listed as one of the characters playable in this weekend's open beta.
