Aztec High School Shooting Confirmed by Police

Parents of Aztec High School students are being asked to pick up their children at the Aztec Police Department.

The New Mexico State Police said no other injuries were reported and that the school was evacuated.

Multiple people are dead following a shooting at a high school in New Mexico.

Local and state police are investigating the shooting alongside agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The San Juan County Sheriff Department is responding to a shooting at Aztec High School in Aztec, NM. Both Bloomfield and Farmington High Schools are on lockdown.

New Mexico State Police held a press conference Thursday at the San Juan County Commission Chambers. Its main street is lined by old brick buildings that date back more than a century.

Padilla called the scene "chaotic" and said there was a massive law enforcement presence. There have been a few social media users that have stated that two students were killed.
