Powder-Snorting High School Teacher Arrested After Getting Busted by Students


A U.S. high school teacher has been arrested after students filmed her appearing to prepare and then take cocaine in the classroom while she thought no one was watching.

As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old Samantha Cox was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, a felony, and possessing drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor, the release stated. Students believed the video showed Cox making lines of cocaine and alerted school administrators, officials said.

The English teacher was allegedly caught doing drugs after students filmed her with a phone from outside the classroom, according to Fox 32 Chicago.

A second cellphone video shows the teacher being led out of the school wearing handcuffs.

Dyer Police Chief Dave Hein confirmed St. John police requested assistance from Dyer on Wednesday for their police K-9 that specializes in narcotics.

"Their actions showed a tremendous amount of fortitude and integrity and enabled staff to address the situation properly", he said in a statement.

The video was shared on social media. Swift and forceful action was taken in conjunction with St. John and Dyer police departments.

Police arrested Cox and escorted her out of Lake Central High on Wednesday. Police say students notified administrators at the high school.
