Woman with 'Fuck Trump' truck decal adds sheriff's name after being arrested

Sheriff Nehls originally threatened to charge Fonesca with "disorderly conduct" after seeing the decal on her auto, and encouraging followers to identity her on his personal Facebook page.

CBS News affiliate KHOU-TV reports Karen Fonseca made headlines after Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls threatened to arrest her for displaying the anti-Trump sticker.

The sheriff's Facebook post sparked an intense discussion among commenters, with a number of them suggesting the First Amendment protected the phrase. "When you're in politics, people know how to work the system".

The new addition comes after Fonseca was arrested on a fraud charge last Thursday and had her bail set at $1,500.

Throughout the end of the week, Fonseca added another decal to the pickup's window that peruses, "F*** Troy Nehls, and f*** you for voting in favor of him".

The controversy started after Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls posted a picture of the decal Wednesday on Facebook.

Fonseca said that she had the sticker for almost a year and that the decal has caused quite a bit of controversy in the community.

Texas sheriff sparks free speech debate after calling out anti-Trump truck sticker

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls threatened to charge a driver with disorderly conduct November 15 because of a profanity-laced anti-Trump sticker.

The Facebook post has since been deleted from the sheriff's page. "I'm nearly certain it does have to do with [the decal]", Fonseca said to KHOU.

"F*** TRUMP AND F*** YOU FOR VOTING FOR HIM" reads the decal in bold white letters. We should stand together and always stand behind what you believe. "And I'm just one person", mom Karen Fonseca said at the press conference.

She said the statement paled in comparison to some of the things President Trump has said.

Fonseca was arrested on Thursday over an outstanding fraud warrant issued in August.

But she didn't back down, and now she's further exercise her right to free speech-and the generous canvas of her truck's windows-with a new decal for the haters and losers.

Although the district attorney has said Fonseca won't face criminal charges, she said she's received nationwide notoriety and that her children and other relatives have been verbally attacked online and at school - all because she did something that is protected by the Constitution.
