AT&T asks customers affected by outage to restart their phones

If you're an AT&T wireless customer and you're having issues with your phone - you are not alone.

Outages sometimes happen to the best of the world's mobile carriers, but when they're as widespread as AT&T's latest blackout, customers tend to get more than a little mad.

If you are an AT&T subscriber with an Apple iPhone, you might have found it hard to make or answer a phone call today on your device.

I can't make or receive calls on my AT&T Wireless cell phone here in Noleta, and neither can my family in LA (on same family account).

The outage appears to have begun around 1 p.m. PT, according to DownDetector, which counted more than 6,000 customer complaints of service outages at 3 p.m. PT., which monitors outages, said customers across the country reported outages, including in Houston, New York and San Francisco.

The company took to Twitter to say the fix is simple: Just restart your phone. "These users should restart their devices, which should resolve the issue".
