Jimmer Fredette and Steph Marbury Get Into a Little Fight in China


Fredette took exception to the hit, yelling at Marbury.

The 40-year-old Marbury, who played in the NBA for 13 seasons and was a two-time NBA All-Star in 2001 and 2003, spoke about the incident after the game.

This is perfection. It is everything you could have ever wanted from the Fredette-Marbury altercation you only dreamed of before now - Fredette getting scrappy and Marbury getting very, very real.

Fredette, who was playing for the Shanghai Sharks, was trying to score when he was fouled by Marbury, who was playing for the Beijing Beikong Fly Dragons.

That's because Fredette got into it with former National Basketball Association star, and current CBA legend, Stephon Marbury. He was the CBA International MVP last season.

The two players have been compared to each other for years, even before they were linked by their bond of playing well while overseas. He's averaging over 40 points per game this season and appears well on his way to repeating as the CBA's International MVP Award victor. Fredette, 28, was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

The BYU product didn't like it, but Marbury isn't one to back down.

In the end, Fredette got the best of Marbury, dust-up aside, outscoring his elder 54-4 while adding 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 123-119 overtime victory.
