Going by the name of World of Warcraft: Classic, this server will not have any of the new races, classes, or regions from the expansions. But shortly after that, Blizzard launched the idea of "pristine worlds", something described similarly to vanilla realms, and then a few days after that the heads of the World of Warcraft team and the heads of Blizzard invited the developers behind the Nostalrius servers to private discussions. The Alliance will set foot on Kul'Tiras archipelago, and the Horde will wade through jungle terrain in Zandalar. Finally, fans' requests for a major turn back of the World of Warcraft clock are coming to life in the form of World of Warcraft Classic.
"Fans of World of Warcraft around the world, we hear you", Brack told the crowd.
Blizzard also announced during their presentation that World of Warcraft vanilla servers will also be making a return in an official capacity. The time for compromise has passed, however, and now Azeroth is on the brink of world war.
For years there's been friction between World of Warcraft players wanting access to classic, "vanilla" servers (without all those later expansions and upgrades), and Blizzard, which preferred everyone to be using newer versions of the game, thank you very much. The expansion also adds new race alternatives for each faction, which can only be unlocked through quests. Battle for Azeroth has all of that, and it will give players the option to create new characters allied races, and each race will come with their own abilities and customization options.More news: Jailing of Catalan politicians could lead to backlash
There's a new "islands" system at play as well in Battle for Azeroth, where players can work in trios to explore certain areas where special enemies and missions change as the game wears on. "Battle for Azeroth will call on you to rally in support of the mighty Horde".
In typical WoW fashion, Battle for Azeroth is bringing new leveling zones into the mix - with a twist.
