Brock Osweiler will once again be the Broncos' starting quarterback on Sunday

Siemian finished Monday's 29-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with 19 passes of 36 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown, three sacks and three interceptions. Osweiler made headlines replacing Peyton Manning in 2015, but, as noted above, 2016 saw him head back to the bench. He then left in free agency, signing a four-year, $72 million contract with the Houston Texans.

The Denver Broncos have reportedly named Brock Osweiler their starting quarterback for Sunday's Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's hard to see him getting an extension, even as a backup.

"If a switch is made, it would be considered (to be) what's best for the football team", Joseph said. "A really good unit", Smith said.

"The thing is, he knows the system", Broncos general manager John Elway said of Osweiler on Tuesday during an interview with the team's radio partner, Orange and Blue 760.

-Is Osweiler ready to start if the Broncos called on him? After all, Lynch is still recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered during preseason.

Though Siemian had turned the ball over six times while Denver had dropped three of its last four games entering Monday, Joseph remained steadfast in his commitment to the signal caller, who had previously thrown for six touchdowns in the team's first two contests of the season. He said he had no regrets for leaving Denver in the first place but was ecstatic to return after an odyssey that included a playoff win, a benching, a blow-up, a trade, the birth of his daughter and a release to go with all those fat paychecks. The Broncos will leave for Philadelphia after their walk-through Friday and have a practice in the Philadelphia area Saturday. "When you've lost three games in a row and you've had the turnovers like we've had them. that's not good". We wanted a veteran presence in our quarterback room, a guy who has played in big games, a guy who can lead our offense, if something like this would happen.
