Niantic today announced that Pokemon Go will soon give players a number of new Pokemon as part of a almost two week promotion. There's not just new Pokemon to capture, but also, of course, a lot of candy.
Witch-Hat Pikachu can also be found and captured in the wild during the Halloween event. Catching, hatching and transferring Pokemon will earn you double sweets, and your buddy Pokemon will find candy twice as fast during the Halloween event, which ends on November 2nd at 4pm EDT. Aside from the arrival of new ghost-type Pokemons such as Sableye, Banette and others, Ghastly, Cubone and Drowzzee are back as well.
Trainers will have the chance to pick up special boxes from the in-game shop which will contain items such as Super Incubators and Raid Passes.
It will be based around the Halloween season, offering both bonuses and new Pokemon to catch. Players can also dress their avatar for the occasion by wearing Mimikyu-themed Disguise Hat.More news: Trump's travel restriction stopped on the grounds of ' discrimination '
In case you are still playing Pokemon Go, then the upcoming Halloween event should be good news for you. It will end November 2 at 1 p.m. EST. Pokemon Go's staggered rollout of generation three mirrors the way Niantic released generation two, adding seven baby Pokemon (and one evolution) in December 2016, followed by the almost complete release of generation two in early 2017.
Andrew is IGN's executive editor of news and now has 244 Pokemon in his Pokedex.
The third generation of Pokemon was introduced along with the Hoenn region in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, which originally came to Game Boy Advance in Japan in 2002 and the West in 2003.
