Google Launches UPI Based Payment App 'Tez'


Google's Unified Payments Interface (UPI)-based digital payment service called "Tez" is live today, September 18. The number should be the same number which is synced with the bank account.

Tez has a daily transaction limit of Rs 1,00,000 like all UPI apps and up to 20 transfers in a day.

Tez works with all of the 55 banks on UPI. This is because the user can make payments to the Bank Account through its mobile number. The app supports a range of Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, and Kannada, among others. Verification can be done simply by sending a text message from their registered phone number through the Google Tez app's interface.

On Monday, NITI Aayog chief executive officer Amitabh Kant tweeted that the government-backed payments app BHIM had been downloaded three million times since its 30. Caesar Sengupta, VP, Next Billion Users, Google said that Tez is Google's made for India payment product and payments will be an area where India will leapfrog the West. "Tez has been made for India and will make payments as simple as cash", said Sengupta. The app comes with tons of features, which lets you make payments and transfer money easily.

Google has launched "Tez" a new Payment Application in India for both Android and iOS devices. These rewards will directly reflect in the user's bank account.

Tez app supports various banks like HDFC Bank, ICICI, State Bank of India, Axis and several other banks that support UPI. Google is also partnering with redBus, PVR Cinemas, Domino's, dishtv, Jet Airways, and more to allow users to pay through the companies' apps or websites.
