Stafford sharp in three series of Lions' win over Jets

Previously, TD celebrations with teammates had been prohibited.

Quarterback Christian Hackenberg made the first start of his career Saturday night against the Lions.

Hackenberg completed just 2 of 6 passes for 14 yards. Two Bilal Powell runs for a total of three yards and a quarterback sack by Cornelius Washington for a loss of nine yards forced NY into punt formation on their first drive. Powell also rushed nine times for 32 yards. Veteran Josh McCown, the projected Week 1 starter, did not play.

Silver linings for the Jets were harder to find in this one than Todd Bowles' smile in a 16-6 loss to Detroit at Ford Field. He led his team down the field while going 6/8 with 55 yards and a touchdown pass to Marvin Jones Jr., giving Detroit a 10-0 lead in the second quarter. Jones caught four passes for 34 yards during the drive and scored when he beat one-on-one coverage on the right side of the end zone.

The poor outing came after Hackenberg was 18 of 25 for 127 yards in last week's win over the Titans.

Ross Martin's 31-yard field goal early in the fourth ended the Jets' scoring drought. Prater's 50-yard field goal with 1:11 remaining completed the scoring.
