Brooks: Scaramucci 'off the map,' I'd fire him over vulgar interview

Reince Priebus's departure as chief of staff marks the latest and most significant step in the White House purge of party loyalists closely tied to the Republican national committee.

Reince Priebus is being replaced as White House chief of staff by Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, President Trump tweeted this afternoon. "He is a Great American", the tweet stated. John has also done a spectacular job at Homeland Security. Priebus successfully convinced Trump not to give Scaramucci a role in his administration in January.

Kelly's Department of Homeland Security is responsible for enforcing border security and has taken a tough line on immigrants inside the United States.

Trump also thanked Priebus for his service.

Deirdre Ball, aged 38, had been married to Scaramucci for three years and they had two children together, but she found his relentless attempts to get close to Trump a major turn off.

Trump also called Priebus "a good man".

In his interview with CNN, Priebus said he submitted his resignation to the President privately on Thursday. Miller and Scavino promptly exited the auto and entered another vehicle that departed with the president's motorcade while the van carrying Priebus pulled off to the side.

Priebus and Scaramucci both accompanied Trump on Air Force One for a trip to Long Island today. She reportedly told him this during a dinner meeting Wednesday that was itself leaked to the press afterward.

Ball, 38, previously worked in investment relations at SkyBridge Capital, the wealth management firm Scaramucci sold before taking his post at the White House.

"He has served the president and the American people capably and passionately", House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan said of his friend in a statement.

Priebus said he was aware of Kelly's appointment.

On Friday evening, in an interview on CNN, Priebus insisted that he resigned and wasn't actually fired. "A killer", Trump calls his new staff chief".
