Though the phone will reportedly pack updated hardware and a thinner profile, the USA version will purportedly pack the worst internals relative to global versions, according to VentureBeat. However, the company did include certain tweaks, for instance, the camera has received a major bump along with the fact that the device comes with a new wireless charging Mod option as well.

Word has come that the Moto Z2 Play handset has already gone official, leaving both the Moto Z2 and Moto 2 Force behind.

In regards to the Moto Z2 Force, the device is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC equipped w with Adreno 540 GPU and 6GB of RAM.

And while the Z Force now on shelves features a single 21-megapixel rear camera, the newer model follows in the footsteps of most 2017 flagships by including a pair of 12-megapixel modules instead.

According to VentureBeat, the Moto Z2 Force will feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560×1440. The device is also almost a millimeter thinner, meaning the battery has shrunken.

Storage is where things are looking down for the U.S. The United States models will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The battery will be 2,730mAh versus 3,500mAh from previous year. Availability for the device is unknown, but we should know more after July 25.

This reduction in thickness and battery size is likely an attempt to lower the Z2 Force's profile when using Moto Mods, but it does not take away the sting of a substantially smaller battery.
