WhatsApp brings in-app YouTube playback to some beta users

Clicking on the link launches the YouTube app to play the video.

This update has a lot of hidden features (that are features not available yet to the public) and one of which is the possibility to view YouTube videos directly in WhatsApp. The chat app now also allows iOS users to delete multiple files at once.

WhatsApp keeps on updating its app with new features every now and then. This feature is not available ti the public as it is now in testing phase.

Furthermore, you can also hide the video in the PIP mode temporarily without interrupting the video to read the message in the chat window. It can be put into fullscreen mode by pinching on the video.

The feature, should it ever be built out into the main app, will give Apple's iMessage a run for its money. However, it is by no means certain WhatsApp users will be receiving the feature any time soon.

This feature is now in process internally and is expected to be launched for people having big screens. The update is available only on the 2.17.40 beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and there is no word on when the company will release a similar update for the Android operating system.

Apart from that, Whatsapp will now not compress pictures sent to you by friends and acquaintances. Its very initial to comment whether the feature would come for Android or iOS as WhatsApp has not given any official statement regarding it.
