West Nile virus is back in NJ, and earlier than usual

The Norman Transcript reports that the first case of West Nile Virus in Oklahoma has been recorded in Cleveland County.

Mosquitoes are trapped weekly for testing, and positive test results trigger additional trapping. The annoying pests may leave behind more than itchy skin. She urges people to wear mosquito repellent and to dump out any standing water on your property.

Mosquitos have been trapped in counties to the south - Mesa and Delta - and across the continental divide in the Eastern Slope communities of Boulder, Larimer, Jefferson and Weld counties.

Remove any water from unused swimming pools, wading pools, boats, planters, trash and recycling bins, tires, and anything else that collects water, and cover them.
