"It looks hard to see Alvaro Morata in a Red Devils shirt with the arrival of Romelu".

AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, with claims that a €70m deal is close for the Spaniard.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera says he will "do everything possible" to keep David De Gea as a teammate, amid speculation that Real Madrid could return with a bid for the goalkeeper this summer.

While United missed out on Morata, the club snapped up Lukaku and made the striker the second most expensive transfer in British football history, behind only Paul Pogba.

Herrera is quoted as saying by Metro: "I even started to think I'd be playing with Morata".

Morata, 24, was widely expected to move to Old Trafford ahead of next season after emerged as one of the top targets of his former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho.
