In a major breakthrough the Jammu and Kashmir Special Investigation Team has arrested a policeman in connection with the Amarnath yatra terror attack. "It is related to a militancy case".
Shopian's Superintendent of Police (SP) Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar confirmed the information saying, "Touseef was cooperating with the investigators".

"It is a clear security lapse case as the attackers were able to carry out the attack twice at a place where there is the Army's sector headquarters", said one of the human rights activists in Srinagar who participated in the protest demonstration organised by the J&K civil society, traders, and journalists.
Notably, tThe victims were travelling in the bus was neither part of the escorted Yatra convoy nor registered with the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
The yatra will conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 7.
On the 16th day of the yatra on Friday, almost 10,000 pilgrims paid obeisance inside the holy Himalayan cave situated at 3,888 metres above the sea-level.
