SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The San Antonio Spurs selected guard Derrick White of Colorado with the No. 29 pick in the National Basketball Association draft on Thursday night.

Texas center Jarrett Allen is congratulated by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver after being selected by the Brooklyn Nets as the 22nd pick overall during the NBA basketball draft, Thursday, June 22, 2017, in NY. Showed considerable improvement over the course of the season and averaged 15.9 points and 9.1 rebounds over his final 18 games.

The Celtics chose to move down in Thursday's draft by giving the pick to the Philadelphia 76ers, who began the night by taking Markelle Fultz of the University of Washington.

San Antonio also had the 59th pick late in the draft. The Nets had to make the 27th pick before the trade could become official and took Kyle Kuzma from Utah for Los Angeles. He also scored 22 points at TCU.

"To have both those guys, I think that gives us a lot of versatility", Marks said. Barring any trades, the Nets will select again at No. 57 in the second round.

Allen doesn't yet have the high motor he'll need to succeed, has limited face-up skills on offense and despite his wingspan only averaged 2 blocks per 40 minutes in college.

Allen declared for the NBA Draft in March after a standout freshman season in Austin.
