Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has been scratched from Wednesday night's starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles.

J.D. Martinez's homer was his third of the three-game series, as the Tigers took two out of three from the Orioles.

Martinez is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA in three career outings against Detroit. Twice last season, in fact, he gave up seven runs on eight hits - just like he did in a forgettable 2? innings against the Orioles Tuesday.

DETROIT (AP) - Chris Davis homered in the 12th inning and again in the 13th. "I ran into some trouble there and it came down to one pitch, the first curveball I hung all day, and ended up giving up a couple of runs".

Keuchel allowed two runs and four hits in five innings. It was the second home run in three games for Martinez, who had gone deep only once previously on the season.

The Tigers were one out away from the win.

Will the Detroit Tigers be able to hold off the Baltimore Orioles when the two AL foes meet up tonight at 7:10PM ET? Davis came up with a runner on third in the 13th and hit a drive to right off Francisco Rodriguez (1-5).

After what started out looking like the weather might be the only positive thing about the game, the Tigers showed they wouldn't be bested by the Orioles, and revved up their collective offense engines. "So, that can't happen and I've got to do a better job". Designated hitter Victor Martinez struck with one man on base in the fifth inning, staking the Tigers to what was then a 5-4 lead that they did not relinquish the rest of the way. Collins is mired in an 0-for-30 slump. "Attacking guys and sticking to the scouting report and communicating during the game, making sure we don't get off track of what we want to do". "That's a great win".

Instead, when the Tigers announced the move after Thursday's game, it was actually an arm that was Detroit-bound from Triple-A Toledo, in the form of right-handed pitcher Buck Farmer. Once Scherzer hit the open market, you knew that no matter how many times the Tigers said they are "still in the running" to keep Scherzer, he wasn't coming back.

Mookie Betts led off the game with a home run and added another RBI to lead Boston to a victory over St Louis.

Elvis Andrus added an RBI double and Nomar Mazara added a two-run double for Texas.

RAYS 7, INDIANS 4: Corey Dickerson hit a three-run homer - his third homer in two days - and Alex Cobb controlled Cleveland over seven innings as Tampa Bay completed its most successful trip in a year.

Cobb (4-3) allowed three runs and six hits. He has allowed 17 earned runs in 39.1 innings with 19 walks and 29 strikeouts.

After Mike Trout was walked intentionally to load the bases, Pujols hit the ball over the drawn-in outfield to end it. The Orioles didn't have any relievers left after Bleier, but Showalter said he could have used right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez if need be.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, manager Brad Ausmus stressed the injury is not serious. Castillo missed 14 games with right shoulder tendinitis. He was activated from the disabled list before the game and had three hits.

The pitching matchup for tonight's game has Matt Boyd (2-3, 3.89 ERA) on the mound to face Wade Miley (1-1, 2.45) of the Orioles.
