Ruthless Kane helps Spurs thrash Leicester 6-1

It is the first time in my professional career that I've done that, there has been a bit of build-up on the race for the golden boot and I wanted at least one or two to put the pressure on but to get four is fantastic.

Harry Kane's four goals vaulted him over Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Premier League golden boot.

Harry Kane boosted his chances of winning the Golden Boot after scoring four as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Leicester City 6-1 at the King Power Stadium this evening.

Kane has now scored 70 goals in his last 90 Premier League games for Spurs after netting his 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th top-flight goals of the season on Thursday.

With Tottenham coming up against already-relegated Hull City, Kane is hoping he can add to his tally on Sunday.

"Of course I'd been thinking a lot about getting on the scoresheet and it's the first time I've scored four goals [in a game]".

"I was looking to get one or two goals at least and then hopefully take it into the last game, now I'm in the driving seat at the minute but there's still one game to play so I'm not resting on my laurels".

Son made the win an emphatic one with the best goal of the game.

"We had been talking about (the season not being over) during the weekend".

Son has 21 goals in all competitions this season.

"We have to improve the squad again and try next season and the season after to not only keep the performance but to win some trophies".

The hat trick was also the fifth of his career in the Premier League.

Kane's opener was set up by Son Heung-min, who scored Tottenham's other two goals against deposed champion Leicester to become the highest-scoring South Korean in a single European season.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said he has no concerns about holding on to his star players during the summer transfer window.

"I felt good. Leicester made it tough for us, they came out in the second half and really put the pressure on". "Maybe we will sell the players that we want to sell".

"To be fair to him and the team, it's a very good collective effort throughout the whole season but we feel so proud of Harry".

He said: "I'd be lying if I said I was targeting catching Romelu".
