Putin offers to give Congress notes of Trump's meeting

When the report burst forth alleging that President Donald Trump had revealed highly classified information to Russian diplomats, the White House quickly dispatched Trump's national security adviser to declare that the story "as reported is false".

Speaking at a news conference alongside Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Putin quipped that Lavrov was remiss for not passing on what he made clear he believed were non-existent secrets.

"I can not explain differently such accusations against the current president claiming he revealed some secrets to Lavrov".

"If the U.S. administration finds this appropriate, we're ready to provide a record of the conversation between Lavrov and Trump to the U.S. Senate and Congress", the Russian president said.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer says Trump will be meeting later Wednesday with Lieberman, former Oklahoma Gov.

Later Wednesday, Russian state-run news agency TASS quoted Putin's assistant Jury Ushakov as saying, "there is no audio recording. a (text transcript) was recorded by a person who was present at the talks specially for this goal".

Israeli counter-terrorism experts are a lot less concerned about what U.S. President Donald Trump said to Russian officials last week than the media seems to be.

The Washington Post reported Trump shared "code-word information" - one of the highest classification levels - about terror threats.

The meeting came amid an ongoing Federal Bureau of Investigation inquiry and congressional hearings into possible Russian influence in the 2016 USA election. Putin on Wednesday joked that his Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov "hasn't shared those secrets with us". Not with me, nor with representatives of Russia's intelligence services. "It's not very nice of him".

It said that Trump told Lavrov about a specific IS bomb threat.

President Trump has personally appealed to now former FBI Director James Comey to abandon the bureau's investigation into National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, according to notes Comey wrote after a meeting.

"But how do we know transcripts won't be "edited"?"

But make no mistake about it: Because Putin is full of games and treachery, he added that the request for said documents, which he's probably having some lackey doctor, will be released only if the Trump administration asks for them. "While the president has repeatedly expressed his view that General Flynn is a decent man who served and protected our country, the president has never asked Mr. Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn", a White House statement said.

"I'm surprised to see them upsetting the domestic political situation in the United States under anti-Russian slogans", he said.
