'Baahubali 2' surpasses the all time collections of 'Baahubali'

On Tuesday, Karan Johar also tweeted about Baahubali 2's stupendous box office collection, "383 crores!"

Baahubali 2 [Hindi] has scored 241 crore* in its first week, which is an out of the world number by all means. In the opening weekend, the film emerged as the all-time third highest grosser in overseas, surpassing several popular Hollywood extravaganzas.

As per independent trackers and speculations in the trade, Bahubali 2 has grossed around Rs 750 crore out of which approximately Rs 600 crore came from India domestic theatricals and another Rs 150 crore from overseas markets. First to go was the title of the best opener ever-Rs 121 crore in all four languages (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam).

The movie has already taken Indian cinema by storm.

Baahubali 2 hit the big screen on 28 April 2017. But like they say good content always wins and the film soon turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of all times. The movie has collected Rs 900 crore gross in the global market in seven days. However, that film isn't another Fast and the Furious or Avengers which would make a huge dent in Baahubali 2 [Hindi] collections. Rao added that the company has issued 160 film insurance policies, mostly in Bollywood. Globally, it launched to $77.7 million, including an estimated $10.1 million in North America, a record showing for an Indian film.
