President Donald Trump reminded left wing activists nationwide that he won the election in a series of tweets Sunday morning.

Critics have raised questions about what Trump's tax returns say about his net worth and various business ties.

"Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday", Trump tweeted Sunday. The election is over!

As a presidential candidate, Donald Trump defied recent historical precedent and resisted releasing his tax returns, citing an ongoing audit by the IRS.

His messages came after thousands of protesters gathered Saturday in cities across America to pressure Trump to release his tax returns, a move of transparency he has repeatedly rejected.

Spicer was asked if Trump would ever release his tax returns and replied, "I'd have to get back to you on that".

Other events took place without major incidents in such US cities as Chicago, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C., and outside pf Trump's south Florida resort home, Mar-a-Lago. The rallies were a forum to draw attention to the fact that the nation has still not seen its president's tax returns, despite the fact that he intends to take up tax reform as his next big challenge. She demanded Trump release his tax returns as a way to prove his loyalties lie with the American people, and that his loyalties are indeed with the constituents he serves.

"The President is also right that this was not a secondary or side issue of the campaign, this was a central issue in the campaign. and he won this fight already", the senator added.

Asked if he would release them publicly, Trump said, "we're working on that now". Protesters in Raleigh, N.C., said they suspect that Trump's returns might show he has paid little or nothing to the government he now heads, or that he was indebted to Russian, Chinese, or other foreign interests.

Dozens of protesters were calling on him to release his tax returns.

Trump revisits the audit argument on Twitter. He's explained that he wouldn't release the returns because he was under audit. He says it is because he was under audit and that voters don't care.
