The Redskins next travel to New Orleans to play the Saints in a 1:00 p.m. game on Sunday, Nov. 19 but then host the division rival New York Giants four days later on Thanksgiving Day in another nationally televised matchup. The game will take place at 8:30 p.m. on November 23 at FedExField against the New York Giants.

The NFL schedule was released on Thursday evening and for the second-straight season, the Minnesota Vikings will play the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. If that becomes an early season game (quite possibly the Chargers' home opener), the Chargers will be fired up in an effort to beat Washington.

Washington will play in five prime-time games this season with two Monday Night Football appearances against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Eagles on the road, a Sunday Night Football game against the Oakland Raiders and a Thursday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Week 14 - This marks the second trip to Los Angeles - Rams Week 2 and Chargers here - in the Redskins' 2017 season and one of three West Coast swings this season.

Week 2: Sunday, Sept. 17 at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m. It'll be interesting to see who has the edge when it comes to knowledge of the other opponent. Next, they have two division games when they travel to Philadelphia on October 23 for Monday Night Football and then, after a short week, host the Dallas Cowboys in a 4:25 game on October 29. The Cowboys snuck by the Redskins in the late afternoon game. One of those losses came past year, when the Cowboys beat them by a score of 31-26.

With both teams expected to contend for the playoffs this season, the victor of this game could have the inside track to the NFC East crown.

For the Giants, it will be their 15th Thanksgiving game in franchise history, but the first since they played the Denver Broncos in 2009.
