Defeat at Stamford Bridge left City just four points ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom have a game in hand.

However, Pochettino was unfazed by his comments, explaining: "I didn't hear him say that but I can understand".

But Gerrard still thinks we're in a better position than rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, who now sit in fifth and sixth respectively.

So is Guardiola finding the Premier League much harder than his previous posts in Spain and Germany?

Hazard scored twice in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Manchester City as Chelsea responded to the defeat to Crystal Palace to maintain a seven-point lead over second-placed Tottenham.

But City manager Pep Guardiola was infuriated on the touchline once again, less than 10 minutes later, when Fernandinho brought down Pedro Rodriguez.

The Italian is comfortable praising a coach who is not proving to be a direct threat this campaign.

His team have won their last five games and are on course to smash their previous record of 72 Premier League points, even if catching Chelsea looks unlikely.

That being said, both teams can score and both teams have defensive issues so betting on both teams to score seems like a really good bet to me. "It is insane how the goals came in the last few minutes but we pushed and we created chances to win". I'm a lucky guy to be here with them.
