Proposed Mayweather-McGregor bout purse amounts could reach $100M

UFC president Dana White has cautioned he still has a lot of work left to do in order to make a proposed boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.

Most importantly, their pay cheques are first on the agenda and White has given a rough idea as to how much the pair will be taking home.

Georges St-Pierre believes McGregor wants to drag Mayweather into a cage-fight.

"And then I go lock myself in a room for a couple days with Team Mayweather and see what we can come out with".

How much? That depends, of course, upon how much the fight sells, not to mention if and when we actually see it. "I would not be able to put on 155 pounds but I would say that fight is absolutely easier to get done than the Floyd Mayweather fight". We haven't really got to into that negotiation yet. "I'm in, I'll figure it out".

McGregor's biggest disclosed purse in the UFC is $3 million, for his welterweight rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202 last August. "I need to figure out the Mayweather side".

White, who at one time was BFFs with McGregor, promised his cash cow that he'd do everything in his power to turn this fantasy fight into reality.

When Dana White starts talking about behind the scenes negotiations in public, you can bet that things are getting serious. Maybe the other side can't be done, but we'll see.

McGregor is determined to prove to the world he can take over the boxing scene and is targeting becoming the first man to beat Mayweather. I'm going to do my best to see if I can get this thing done. "It's all anybody ever asks me about". If were close, I'd tell you we were close. So I think if any fight can happen before the Floyd Mayweather fight, it would be fine because we do the same s**t.

As things stand, there are no roadblocks to making Mayweather v McGregor a reality following previous admissions from White and also by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. It's not going to have anything to do with UFC. The closest thing my brand will be to this is obviously I'll be part of the promotion for the fight, and Conor's my guy.
