Crystal Palace fans praise players after 3-0 victory over Arsenal

Arsenal fans surrounded the team bus after Monday's 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, hurling abuse at the players and manager Arsene Wenger.

Goals from Andros Townsend, Yohan Cabaye and a Luka Milivojevic penalty inflicted a fourth successive away defeat in the Premier League on the Gunners - the worst of under-fire manager Arsene Wenger's career at the club.

"We've recently announced our results from an Arsenal Supporters Trust survey from all our members on the future of Arsene Wenger, and 78 per cent have decided that it is time for Arsene to leave the football club in the summer". "You could tell they wanted it more and you could sense that from kick-off".

When questioned on what he said in the dressing room at half-time he replied: "Look, what we say in the dressing room remains in the dressing room".

The sixth-placed Gunners needed three points to keep them in the hunt for Champions League qualification, but the defeat leaves them seven points off the pace. I've managed over 1,000 games and we are not used to this, it's a big worry.

"We played a great game", he said. "We've let them down tonight, and we need to respond". It's part of my job to build the confidence.

The uncertainty over his future has been a major distraction for a team lacking the fighting spirit required to cope with adversity.

With top four hopes diminishing for Arsenal, Sutton feels it is time Wenger steps down from his position at the end of the season and allows a new manager to take charge.

"I think it will be very hard certainly", he said.

"Like I said before, this isn't Arsenal at this moment time". I'm not in the mood. "It was more painful for us to lose this game in the way we lost it".

Arsenal had 72% possession against Palace but they did very little with it and failed to register a shot on target in the second half.

And when pressed further on why he was unable to change things after half-time he replied shortly: "I just told you, they won more decisive duels than us". On the other side, it is never an easy game to come and play at Palace.
