Chelsea ease past Bournemouth to re-establish title lead

Chelsea re-established their seven-point lead atop the Premier League with a 3-1 victory at Bournemouth. They now have a seven point lead over London rivals Tottenham with seven matches of the league season remaining.

After Tottenham's comprehensive 4-0 drubbing of Watford earlier in the day, Chelsea found themselves just four points clear of the Lilywhites before their last game against Bournemouth.

Hazard and company will now face old boss Mourinho in next weekend's clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford, but Conte has rejected all talk of the meeting of Chelsea bosses old and new. "What we've historically done is always try to win and that's the same aim no matter how many points you have and how many games are left".

"It was a good goal, I like to score against them".

"I'm satisfied because it wasn't easy to play this game after the win for Tottenham".

"I think the team does well whenever we have pressure on us", Alonso said. "We started the game very well, with good concentration and focus".

Chelsea went 2-0 up inside the first 20 minutes at Bournemouth, Diego Costa's mishit shot ballooning in off Adam Smith for an own goal before Eden Hazard added a second.

It is something that Eddie Howe has also done brilliantly with his Bournemouth players and notably King, who has now scored 13 Premier League goals this season.

Bournemouth were second best but did offer something going forward and got a goal back shortly before half-time through the in-form Josh King, whose deflected effort beat Thibaut Courtois at his near post. "We must have the same desire".

"Now we stay at the top of the league and are trying to change the opinion of the others".

Victor Moses, who has failed to feature in Chelsea's last four outings, is unlikely to play at Dean Court, as he recovers from a calf strain.

"I have to compliment Chelsea, they're an outstanding team and their system works very well for them".

"He is a great player, a great talent and he must understand that he is a great player and never forget this". "If he is able to improve this situation, he is a top, top player".

"I think Manchester United for sure will have good motivation because they are playing against Chelsea".

Costa, who is still looking for Premier League goal number 50, twice failed to make contact with inviting crosses after the break but did win the free-kick that secured the win for Chelsea.

"The group is fantastic".

"It's a massive win for us, especially as we knew what Tottenham had done". He played a good game and fought a lot and fought for the team.
