The Basketball Hall of Famer congratulated Russell Westbrook on Sunday after the Oklahoma City Thunder guard set the NBA's single-season record for triple-doubles.

Oklahoma City rallied from nine down late to beat the Nuggets in overtime on November 25. Westbrook finished out the game with 50 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.

No player has averaged a triple-double for an entire season since Robertson.

With another MVP like moment occurring for Westbrook, it's safe to say that fans and experts should expect the former All Star Game MVP to add the Maurice Podoloff Trophy to his trophy case as we have witnessed a season like no other from an superstar athlete.

But how does his season stack up against Robertson's stunning 1961-62 campaign? He clinched a season-long triple-double average Friday night against the Phoenix Suns.

Westbrook has the better stats than Harden but the latter has led his team to the third-best record in the league. He crossed the double-digit barrier five minutes later with his 10th rebound.

Westbrook almost had his 10th assist with two minutes left in the third quarter but Enes Kanter lost the handle going up for the basket and Westbrook took a seat until the fourth quarter.

It's awesome. It's something I never could have dreamed about as a kid.

George paced the East in scoring (31.7 ppg) and tied for seventh in rebounding (9.0 rpg) while shooting 57.4 percent from the field as the Pacers went 3-0 for the week to climb into seventh place in the East with two games to play.

"I could not be happier for him". Robertson wrote at the website Undefeated.com. Throughout the game, they lead the Thunder in 2nd and 3rd Quarter.

Westbrook achieved the feat while putting up 50 points, with an incredible buzzer-beating three-pointer sealing victory over the Denver Nuggets. NY rookie Willy Hernangomez tied his career high with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

An 8-2 run to start the second frame put the Thunder up 22 points, but the T'Wolves started to chip away at their deficit and only trailed by 13 points at intermission. "I'm so thankful to be doing the things I'm doing", he said.

"Pure adrenaline, emotions running high, game-winning shot, it is something you dream about as a little kid to be able to do that on the road especially from that distance". "It is something you definitely will never forget". They thought they could afford to fete Westbrook, with the Nuggets comfortably ahead in a game they had to win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. OKC locked up the sixth seed in the conference and will meet Houston in the first round of the playoffs.
