The DGP lauded the restraint and patience shown by the CRPF jawans in the face of heckling and grave provocation by the miscreants. The incident was captured on a camera and the video later became viral online earlier this week. "This is just so shocking!"

He said he had no information on the video as of now, but added, "Whatever has happened, we will look into it".

Venting out his anger on Twitter, the 43-year-old wrote, "The footage of our soldiers being slapped and heckled is sickening. their restraint admirable". After lodging a formal FIR complaint against the incident, the IG asserted that the armed force will ensure that action will be taken against everyone involved in the harassment of jawans.

Asked about a video showing a youth tied to an army jeep as a human shield against stone-pelting protesters, he said, "Action as per the law will be taken in the matter".
